Fly tying……artistic, addictive and most times essential to the fly fisher. Across the planet, new patterns are developed every day. Some are masterpieces, some should be shelved and hidden away from the world.
Fly Tying Almanac brings flies crafted and perfected for fly fishing in Ontario, but these flies and the methods used to successfully fish them can be used in countless areas of the world. Many fly patterns, such as the Adam’s dry fly are imitations of insects that occur in nearly all climates, in all parts of the planet. Many of the patterns found here also include a video or two which discuss methods of fishing the related fly to help with your success on the river.
Of course, we accept fly pattern submissions from everyone, and if you’d like, we also have a fly tiers directory which includes bios, tips and fly patterns tied by the individual.
